Hi
I have my 888 ata for a year now.
I love it
I’ve took the par out in the first week (I don’t remember how… )
It works great.
I want to change the oil.
Can someone please help?
How do I take it apart? And change oil?
Is there a service manual for it? I didn’t find anything about it…
Thanks

It's pretty easy.
1. Remove fork from bike.
2. Open up damping side (right leg) by removing the top cap.
3. Dump out all old oil. You'll need to cycle the stanchion through its travel a bunch to get all the oil out - there will be lots of it hiding around in there.
4. Add new oil. I think it's either 7 or 7.5 wt? For oil levels, go here, and err on the side of a little less than it recommends:

5. Reassemble and reinstall
You can also change the oil in the air side by a similar method, but that oil is only used to lubricate the internals (it doesn't affect damping at all), so it's not as critical in my opinion.

Not sure if SL ATA is here but it's worth the look - http://www.birota.ru/manuals/index.php
It has many marz tech manuals not those crappy ones on their page.

You must be comfortable working on suspension forks.

Wait.....what?
;)
Just pop the top cap, drop the stanchion and dump the oil. Cycle the rod to get it all out. To be really thorough, take the damper rod itself out of the dummy rod and cycle it. Add 205-210cc of oil.

Anyone have online instructions for removing the PAR chamber? Once removed is it reversible?

This is Rene's extremely detailed post from mtbr:

and yes, it is reversible.

Thanks for the link. Since the 888 SL ATA doesn't have air preload on the RC2 side I assume you use the left leg as the spring and oil height in the right leg for bottom out?

Um, not to sound like an idiot here. I also had no problem removing the PAR, but can I figure out how to remove the top cap off the damping leg? Um, nope...
I unscrew the top cap so that it, and a small portion of the damper rod extend from the stanchion. I let out the air from the spring side, but still I can't see how one completely removes the top cap from the plunger rod.
If someone could let me know so I can go back to wearing my dunce's cap in the corner I'd be very grateful!
