hardtail xc bike needed-Seattle

I am looking to buy a used hardtail xc bike for my wife. I will be turning it into comuter bike for her that she can lock up around Seattle and not have worry about it being ripped off. Looking for late 90's to current Trek, Specialized, Cannondale, Kona, etc. The frame would need to be a medium. If anyone has something like this sitting around that they want to sell, let me know.
