New handle bars Q

:monkeydance:So I am going to get new handle bars and a stem I think its called. all of this is to achieve a higher overall height of my hands when I am riding. My question is what do I need to know before I purchase?

Are you going to be purchasing through a shop or online? A shop will give you on the spot help, ordering online you're pretty much on your own.

Things to note: is the fork threaded or threadless? the stems are not compatible between the 2.

Also, handlebar clamp diameter. There are 2 sizes.

Beyond this, its more or less a matter of comfort.
