once oil gets expensive enough than all sorts of other technologies like these fuel-eating bacteria will become viable. until that point is reached, not so much, and we'll be stuck with sucking oil out of shale.

Yup with all the recent record profits they can afford to spend mega bucks to get the copywrite/patents on that. :rant:

.......or just sue the arse outta the scientists behind it if they won't sell.

Even if we were able convert all of our waste into energy it would only provide a fraction of the energy we use in oil. 25% I think.
