ok, well im getting a mountain bike for graduation. i have 3 three choices. I want to go dual crown forks

2008 Specialized Big Hit FSR I
-all stock
-Around 1100-1200

2004 Specialized Big Hit Frame
-medium
-Manitou Swinger 4 way shock, 8.75 x 2.5, with a 400 lb. spring resealed
-Cane Creek S2 headset, sealed cartridge bearing
-Thompson seat post
-Alloy QR seat post clamp
-DK freeride saddle, Cr-mo rails
-24” Halo Combat SAS rear wheel, 48 spokes
-24 x 2.4 Panaracer Fire FR tire
-(2) 24” DH tubes

-all that put together on a bike
-im thinking around 250
-dont know if it comes with brakes
-no front tire
-would need forks

2006 Azonic Recoil
-18 inch
-local, so i dont have to pay for shipping
-2005 marzocchi junior t with super t internals (integrated stem)
-truvativ hussefelt bars and cranks
-wtb laserdisc dh wheels with dh tubes and newer maxxis tires
-hayes nine hd brakes
-e.13/mrp custom guide w/ black rollers
-raceface 38t chainring
-shimano 11-27t cassette
-KMC chain
-shimano xt shifter/deraileur
-SDG seat and pivot post
-around $900

my friend is getting the FSR I and says he's gonna upgrade forks but he doesn't/won't have the cash. i want a better bike than him because i can ride a lot better than him, but im stuck on a bmx bike. I really want the Xfusion delta 8 FSR forks, but if i have dual crown than why bother spending the extra $. I am 5'10, 14 years old, 190 lbs. so i expect to be at least 6'2.

thank you for your help!

I think you should go with the 2008 Big Hit 1 because it is a good bang for the buck and you should ride it single crown because dual crown doesn't really make a difference.

yea, that's what i figured, cause you can always upgrade. thank you

my vote is for the 08 bighit also. I have an 04 bighit with the 24" rear and am not happy with it at all. It doesn't roll over things nearly as well as the 26 up front. And you should def. go with a large frame size. I'm 5'10 on a med. but feel a little cramped. So go big since you plan to grow.

yea, also i think i said before, a single crown would be better for freeride anyway compared to a dual crown
