Devil's Right Hand? (add Tom Ames' Prayer to that if you're going for any Steve Earle song involving guns...and atheism...)

Don't Take Your Guns to Town?

Big Iron?

Hmmm, why are all these country songs?

That's super easy:

When they kick out your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun

When the law break in
How you gonna go?
Shot down on the pavement
Or waiting in death row

You can crush us
You can bruise us
But you'll have to answer to
Ohhhh, oh, Guns of Brixton

Slayer, Hallowed Point

High velocity bullet at close range
Can damage the mind
Shattering the skull shredding the brain
Severing the spine

Bury a round of lead in the chest
It's quite an impression
Imagine the innards of your soul
The infliction

CHORUS
Instinctive regression
With intent to kill
No regard of human life
Or the blood spilled

Riddled convulsions
Confetti of flesh
Scattered helplessly
Losting your control of physical
Facilities

Release the slide to cleanse inside
Prepare to anoint
Snap the tongue in the groove discharge
To make my hallowed point

CHORUS

The power of a gun
Used with conviction
Disperesed on excursions
Randomly kills its victims

my sweet revenge
Bitter in depression
The thrilling release
Of a hatred deep persuasion

The power of a gun
Used with conviction
Diffused compulsions
Unending repercussions

Violent emotion
Screaming revolution
Spasmic convulsions
Death an empty gun

Cocaine blues.
Not really a gun song, but the spirit is there...
"...took a shot of cocaine and I shot my baby down, I shot her down and then I went to bed, and I stuck that lovin' .44 beneath my head..."

when she came down, heading me home safe and sound,
all the rest was me.
what a laugh, neither the first nor the last.
all the rest was me.

well, you've given it all that i won't give.
and you laid it in my palms for me, remember.
and you've given it all that i won't give.
and it's all in a day's work.

chorus:
she never listens to me at night.
get a gun, get a gun, we're losing altitude.
she never listens to me at night.
ah, but i remember.

understand, this is the way things get planned.
the way to stand with me.
what a drag, was it the first or the last? all the rest was me.

and you've given all that i won't give.
and it's all in a day's work.

(repeat chorus)

she never listens to me at night.
get a gun, get a gun, we're losing altitude.

and you've given all that i won't give.
and you laid it in my palms for me, remember.
well you've given all that i won't give.
and it's all in a day's work.

(repeat chorus)

she never listens to me at night.
get a gun, get a gun, we're losing altitude.
she never listens to me at night.
ah, but i recall, i recall.

Rancid, St. Mary

She's got a ticket and she's waiting at the station
She's got to get away as far as she can
Her problems will arise as sure as the sun shine
She's got to get used to living on the lam

Now Mary's out the door with a loaded 44 in her hand
Shooting down the law that shot down her dear departed man

When I last saw her she was looking trouble
She said this is the 90's I'm gonna be alright
She took the greyhound into salinas
I got a letter that she dropped out of sight

Now Mary's out the door with a loaded 44 in her hand
Shooting down the law that shot down her dear departed man

Shrouded in anger encompassed by pain
He was your best friend and you will never ever ever see him again

Now Mary's out the door with a loaded 44 in her hand
Shooting down the law that shot down her dear departed man

- Connells

Very slick. But I see your Connells and raise you one Belly...

Slow Dog.

----
Meet him by the road.
Theres a dog went running,
Picking through spit out leaves
A dog wont even touch.
Meant to shoot that dog long ago,
Just cant leave that dog alone.
Maria carry a rifle.
Maria carry a dog on her back.
That dog is hit again.
That slow dog is hit again,
With his see-thru skin,
The kind of skin you can see through.
Hes shot again.
Hes shot again.
Hes shot a-a-a-a-a-a.
Hes shot again.
Hes shot again.
Hes shot a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a.
Heal me by a river.
Man retires his wife says,
But she was so sad and sick.
His heart breaks in the mud.
Thought Id leave this world by twenty-one.
Couldnt leave that dog alone.
Maria carry a rifle.
Maria carry a dog on her back.
That dog is hit again.
That slow dog is hit again,
With his see-thru skin,
The kind of skin you can see through.
Hes shot again.
Hes shot again.
Hes shot a-a-a-a-a-a.
Hes shot again.
Hes shot again.
Hes shot a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a.
Maria carry a rifle.
Maria carry a dog on her back.
Maria carry you on her back.

Boomtown Rats - I don't like Mondays.

The silicon chip inside her head
Gets switched to overload.
And nobody's gonna go to school today,
She's going to make them stay at home.
And daddy doesn't understand it,
He always said she was as good as gold.
And he can see no reason
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to be shown?

Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
I want to shoot
The whole day down.

The telex machine is kept so clean
As it types to a waiting world.
And mother feels so shocked,
Father's world is rocked,
And their thoughts turn to
Their own little girl.
Sweet 16 ain't so peachy keen,
No, it ain't so neat to admit defeat.
They can see no reasons
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to be shown?

Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
I want to shoot
The whole day down.

All the playing's stopped in the playground now
She wants to play with her toys a while.
And school's out early and soon we'll be learning
And the lesson today is how to die.
And then the bullhorn crackles,
And the captain crackles,
With the problems and the how's and why's.
And he can see no reasons
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to die?

Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
I want to shoot
The whole day down.

I wanna see 'em...!!!

I did manage to see Siouxsie and the Banshees at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara (1986) but never got to see The Cure.

I saw Sister of Mercy in Philly awhile ago. Once I had a ticket for Bauhaus in NYC but wasn't able to make it:banghead:

I think Bauhaus would be best out of the four.

16 Shells from a 30-06

The Fall of Troy

Pretty much the entire "Black Rider" album, esp. "Just the right bullets" and "Flash pan hunter," which features the epic-ly mind-blowing lyric "Beware of elaborate telescopic meats." William Burroughs, I believe, had a lot of influence on that one (being the co-writer and all).
