Simple, your laptop sucked up all the signal :p Are there any devices behind the PC that could be causing interference?

It's kind of like home theater subwoofer placement where it sounds good 1 foot away from the wall and then sounds like shat flush against the wall. Try sliding your wireless router over a foot or two in any direction.
