so i know this old lady who has dozens of varieties of pistols & rifles her husband left her decades ago when he died. she doesn't have the hand strength to shoot a deringer, so they are utterly useless to her, except for inflating her estate. i'm pretty sure ammo would have to be custom, or reloaded brass if saved.

i know she'd be interesting in finding a good home for them, but if she can get their actual value of it, that would be preferred.

oh, she has some civil war era stuff, too. (husband was a serious collector).

how does she go about offloading this stuff with minimal stress? talk to the few cops in town we know?

Call a gun dealer, or an Estate appraiser. Cop does not neccesarily = gun expert.
