This past weekend Diablo Freeride Park Gravity Team rider Jason Memmelaar claimed 2nd place at the Winter Series #4 Pro DH event in Southern California.
Memmelaar, a local and Diablo Gravity Team pro rider, claimed the 2nd fastest time of the day within a stacked field of nearly 300 competitors. Notable riders such as Brendan Fairclough, Cody Warren and David Klaassenvanoorschot, among many others, were in attendance battling for top honors with only ChainReaction rider Chris Kovarik besting Memmelaar's 2nd place finish.
This past winter, Memmelaar, has taken advantage of the temperate climate of Southern California racing in the SouthRidge series and training in preparation for the upcoming season.

The new Diablo Gravity Team will be training on the technical terrain of Diablo Freeride Park utilizing unique and proprietary training methods in preparation for a busy schedule of gravity events. Members of the Diablo Gravity Team will be competing both internationally at UCI World Cup events in addition to select US national and regional competitions.
In addition, in 2008 Diablo Freeride Park will be implementing a Gravity Academy or developmental coaching program to offer aspiring racers the opportunity to receive structured training and coaching assistance to foster personal performance improvement. The Diablo Gravity Pro team will be influential in providing coaching assistance as well as mentoring for junior athletes looking to step up their game. More information available soon!
