Spacer Material/Size to lower '08 DJ1

I picked up a '08 dj1 a few weeks back and haven't gotten around to lowering it yet.

I need to pick up a spacer to drop it to atleast 80mm or maybe 65mm or so...

I'm curious as to if someone may know the I.D./O.D. of the tubing needed and material suggestions. (thought about PVC) Maybe something I can pick up at the hardware store. ??

I used a wooden dowl(sp?). Worked perfectly. And It's nice and light.
