this is very bad news.
Sad news indeed. RIP Sheldon Brown.
His site is such a great resource. I spend a good amount of time on there.

very sad to hear. very informative stuff on his site..
he obviously doesn't know much about DH racing though. pretty funny..
taken from his site:
"Down Hill, specifically, down hill racing. This activity that goes against the spirit of cycling more than any other branch of the sport, since it is the only branch of cycling which is not powered by the riders' muscles. This sport should, perhaps, be considered a branch of motorcycling, not cycling."

He was a great guy. made some good guids as well. But I must admit his wheel trueing guid was way to complicated for me.

Tacky, as usual.

He forgot more about cycling than you'll ever know.
STFU and show some respect.

yeah, sad day for cycling, he was definitely a heavy resource and widely recognized character in biking.... Mad respect. (even if I was beginning to get annoyed by the endless sheldon links being posted left and right as an end all to arguments...)
and on top of all of that, adding to the horror, Cannondale was also just purchased by Dorel, the same company that owns Pacific Cycles (bought out bankrupt schwinn, GT, mongoose and spread the name to dept. stores.) It's said Dorel will keep Cannondale as a separate high-end company, but who knows what that means.
