Anybody know what a daily lift ticket costs? I don't live close (10 hour car ride) but I'm a 25% owner of a financial company outside of philly and plan on taking business trips there. Long story short i'd probably get at least 10 days, maybe more at Diablo and want to see if it would be worth it.

Can't wait until May 3rd. Improvements sound great!!

Two questions for Diablo:

1.) Are season ticket holders going to get a break on race fees this year?

2.) Are you guys doing 1/2 day tickets?

You should do an after work special or something like that from like 4-7pm for everyone who wants to bomb a couple runs after work.

It would have to be something cheap like 10 bucks, but I think you'd clean up from the after work crowd.

Hey, you could call it the Happy Hour ticket (TM)

Since a season pass pays for itself after 8 trips, Id say its worth it. Daily was $34 I think. Also I believe diablo is doing 2 day passes this year.

Haha, exactly. But I agree, when will we hear an answer on this topic? Most seasonpass holders are sick of getting screwed on race weekends, which is why I did not race the series last year.

I'd like a discount too, but I don't think so.

FYI...Any emails that we have received have been promptly replied to.

Please be advised that we will not be offering season passholders discounts on race fees. We appreciate the feedback, here is the reasoning:

1) When considering the amount of total riding days in a given season, the Diablo Freeride Park season pass is already being offered at a very reasonable rate. The Diablo Freeride Park Season pass offers more total riding days than any other park in the east, potentially America, and the rate is on par with the cost of passes at other MTB parks that offer less total days. More days, more riding, longer season, fast lift, trail maintenance, new trails = greater value.

2) The Diablo Domination Series offers more guaranteed cash and prizes than any other series regionally, perhaps nationally and race entrance fees are essential to operating a smooth, efficient and successful series that offers guaranteed prizes. More cash, more prizes = more value.

3) Due to the competitive, free spirited nature of our series, we do not require any type of licensing or other hidden fees embedded in our race entrance fees which allows us to keep fees to a minimum and adds value to competitors.

4) Given the value of our series, our race entrance fees are already on par, or below that of other regional series that consistently offer less in terms of cash and prizes. Again, more cash, more prizes...competitive fee's.

In summary, we feel that our series is very strategically priced and we continue to offer increased purses, professional course maintenance, increased course variety and a top-notch event venue for up-and-coming grass-roots racers.

Thank you for your time. If you have any any questions feel free to email info@diablofreeridepark.com

it has been answered before. there are several reasons why there is no discount for pass holders, but here goes:

1. each race is its own event, it needs its own insurance, a timing crew, a cash purse, more employees, ambulance rental, etc. simply put, it costs money to host a race- above and beyond normal operating costs- and that money has to come from somewhere.

2. to race in a national series race, you need a license AND you have to pay a race fee for a series with a lower prize purse and usually no product toss. alternative: no license, one flat fee to race

3. fairness. everyone pays the same price within a category, regardless of stature within the sport, sponsorship, affliation. Employees of diablo even pay full race fees. it keeps things honest. if you have a season pass, its safe to say diablo is your "home" mountain. racers that travel and visit places like diablo mainly to race would most certainly question favoritism towards locals, which in turn affects the integrity of the event.

4. keeping races competitive. if you want to race, and you are serious, you will pay. you're not going to throw down hard earned money to goof around and have a "timed" run. if you dont invest as much, its not a big deal to screw around.

5. not all season pass holders are racers. so how would it be fair to offer an incentive to one group of pass holders to race and alienate recreational riders on race weekends?

discuss....

the only reason i brought it up was that i went to a race at snowshoe last year, they give breaks to season pass holders, not a national race, didnt need a license, seems like a similar opperation, i guess i must be missing something. and the only riders that are being alienated is the pass holders which pay the same race fees as non pass holders. not trying to knock diablo in any way, great resort, just dont understand fully about this. doesnt really matter i guess!
