Luckily for me they were Rolls Royce engines. My 401K really didn't need to take another hit.

That's the second Boeing with a power failure in 2 weeks.
The other was a Qantas one that had all electrical power go down as it was coming in to land.
jumbo jet en route from London lost all main electrical power and was forced to land on battery back-up. (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23025137-2,00.html)
If its Boeing I ain't going! :panic:

What's with those stupid blue-underlined hyperlinks in that article?? As if I suddenly need to see a pic of a panda or the forbidden city when I'm stumped by coming across the unfamiliar word, "China." Christ, that's Internet geekery at its worst. "whoa--look at the interconnections in our world..." If they want to make the Internet more truly functional, all hyperlinks should just go straight to porn.

The more I read about this accident the scarier it becomes. How they all got out of it alive is amazing. The pucker factor for the pilots must have been off the richter.

And you all should stop asking questions. The airplane was obviously shot down by Al Qaeda. Case closed.
