specialized sx rear shock

so i have searched a lot and haven't gotten a straight answer. what dimensions is the rear shock on on a specialized sx? the 4.2" of travel. is it a 7.5x2 or a 7.75x1.75. I tried to measure but is is an eyeballs guess. i am looking for a new rear shock

Just measure. You should have no problem being accurate to .25". Measure from the center of one mounting bolt to the center of the other. Then take the shock off, remove the spring or air, as the case may be, and compress it, then remeasure. Subtract the two mesurements to find the stroke.
