Nice looking BB, but it's not going to make the spindle longer on a XT/XTR crankset.

It wont work at all with 83mm BBs and current versions of either XT or XTR cranks. As stated, it does nothing to change the length of the spindle. If you already have cranks with an 83mm spindle, then you can go ahead and run the 83mm version of this BB. It is a direct, drop-in repacement for the equivalent Shimano or Race Face units.

:huh: Did you read the article? According to the link above Hope is making a version for 68/73mm and 83mm shell widths.

yeh they will make 83mm width versions of the BB ie they will put a spacer between the cups to fit 83mm BB

however you wont be able to transform your XT/XTR cranks into 83mm BB versions since that is dependant on the spindle length available in those cranks. None of those cranks as of yet come in 83mm BB compatible spindle length.

Thats what big-ted is trying to highlight :busted:

The way his post is worded he says it won't work at all with ANY 83mm cranks. :bonk:
