Wow...
Guess it was bound to happen though, eh?
Thoughts? Discussions?

Not only that but the Astana team which is basically a recycled Discovery hasn't paid their riders in months. Sounds like they might collapse before it is all said and done.

the astana kids haven't gotten paid is a nasty deal but that's probably due to the fact of the team switching hands in management. those kids will probably eventually get paid, i hope so atleast. selling off your equipment in order to put food on your table isn't fun.
That sucks for Stapleton and the riders. Thats pretty short notice to be sponsor hunting for next season. As for Astana, they have agreed to pay the back wages.

Funny tidbits from VeloNews -
Ullrich has since retired from cycling but continues to protest his innocence.
Perhaps they were looking for "proclaim"???
Team High Road???
Maybe he flip'd the script and wants to claim guilty now?

"We have enough money to run the team for the next two years without finding a new main sponsor," he said. "We will continue to look for a new sponsor but we will take our time. It must be the right sponsor, one who is willing to make a long-term commitment to the sport and who will be good for the sport."
