View Full Version : RIP iPod mini

I fear my iPod mini is now done for. At least, the battery is. I know that the battery is usually what goes first on these things, but the way mine is going seems strange.
My battery indicator can be at 3/4 full and then suddenly it will just shut off with the "dead battery" pictogram on the screen. I can wait a few minutes, and the thing will show 3/4 full again, work for a few seconds, then shut off again. Irritating as hell.
Is this the way the battery usually fails?
This isn't the biggest deal in the world as I use my iPod in the car 90% of the time anyway plugged into the charger, but I biked to work today and the thing died halfway to work in the middle of Woman by Wolfmother and wouldn't revive. Maybe it's my taste in music the thing doesn't like (pre-emptive strike there...)

Yeah...I know. The iPod industry already kinda has me by the gahonees though. I've got the FM transmitter, a clock radio dock thing, a charger, all my playlists are in iTunes...
Plus that new touchscreen is just so cooooooooooooooool!

Screw the technology. Just have your brother follow you around with his guitar.

Don't buy proprietary accessories :bonk:
Why would you buy a proprietary FM transmitter when the ones that plug into the headphone jack work just as well?
Besides...
I use my iPod in the car 90% of the time anyway

:thumb: Costco is going to have the 8GB model for $90 for sale over the T-giving weekend. I think I'm going to eBay my Nano and buy the Sansa.

Because iPod purchasers are generally dolts? :p

Yes, your battery has failed. It's an iPod, it happens. Buy a Sansa :D

Yes - the battery in your iPod is fooked. Bend over, send it back to Apple and pay more than the value of the iPod to get it replaced.
Or buy the Sansa and if/when the batter dies replace it yourself for the kingly sum of $20.

My issue is the damn software as well...I HATE Itunes. I reformatted my hard drive, new OS, and now, I can't get the music FROM my I-Pod to the PC.....

You never could, it is part of the copy protection scheme. You need to use 3rd party software to do it.

Buy 2 batteries and you'll get free shipping. (Orders over $30=free shipping).
BTW-I checked shipping to my zip code and it was only $7 for fed-ex ground.

He's in Canada.
Still, an international priority mail flat rate envelope is only 6 bucks.

Apparently not. It appears crappy, worn out polish is ok. :twitch:

A good Canadian should be listening to these (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGtqIxMsKT0&feature=related) guys.
Unless MMike tells you otherwise.
