Ok ok I've done this a few times over now but I fell I'm finally getting near a final decision.
Uzzi VPX or Cove STD. Bike will be used for trail, free ride, xc and DH racing.
Looking at the angles I think the cove would be a better Dh bike, (slacker head angle and seat angle) but the VPX is more upright there for being better for trail. Mind you my current ride (06 SXT) is pretty slack, slacker then the VPX so perhaps the intense would feel to steep for me?
I'm accualy leaning towards the cove right now, as I like the angles better and it's a Canadian brand (I'm from Canada) and I think it's a bit lighter.

Have you thought about a Morewood Shova LT? I have been on one for a few weeks now and love the bike. Its my do it all 7" bike. Plan on doing a right up soon. Still changing a few things up on the bike for weight. Just for a little info, it has a Totem air and a DHX air 5.0. I am running a shorter I to I and stroke shook than stock. The stock rear shock is 8.75 I to I with a 2.75 stroke. I have a 8.5 I to I with a 2.5 stroke. The GEO is now perfect for all my riding. 65HA, 70SA, 14.25" BB height, and 44.75" wheel base. It makes a great 7" x 7" bike. I will right up more with pics soon. If you think this is something you may like call Richrd at Morewood and talk to him direct at 828-687-0788.

Thoes Morewood's do look nice, but I'd prefer to stay away from single pivot bikes.

Cool, I can respect your thoughts. SP bikes aren't for everyone.

I have seen the Cove STD, while at the North Shore, and it was awesome. Im an Intense fan, but if I was looking for a 7" travel bike.... I would get the Cove.

Does any one know the size of the shock on a STD? I have a 2.8 ti coil I'm hoping to be able to transfer over to the new bike.

I guess I'll be the jerk to say it, but any bike competitive in DH racing will not be very competitive for XC racing, and vice versa. But if you do well on a big bike in an XC race, I'd love to see what you can do on a competitive ride

I think he ment XC and also DH racing.... not XC racing and DH racing.

I'm 99% sure the STD uses a 8.75x2.75 shock.

Correct, I won't be racing much xc on the big bike, I'll be getting a different ride for that.
Mind you I was part of a 3 man team at a 8 hour xc race this year on my SX trail - we got 3rd. All of us were on big bikes.

Sounds good, I should be able to use my 2.8 then.

The XC ridding pepper is refering to is mainly to get to technical trails and stunts, which requires that sort of bike.
You know my choice Ryan. Its time you got an STD.......
