Retarded question for something I've never understood (BBs and chainlines)

I'm about to build up my 2005 Norco CRR Team frame...

A) Is BB spindle length dependent on the frame or cranks?

B) How would I go about figuring out what spindle length I need? I know it's a 68mm shell.

You see, I never actually got around to learning about these things before the advent of the external BB in all its glory, but I'm currently broke, need a new BB, and only have the OEM FSA square taper cranks off my Redline...

Good link, in an answer to the post, BB spindle length has to do with Cranks, frame, wheel and type. I like the site GFF listed, has alot of info there
