After getting hurt I decided to build a new shop comp and kinda got into it more than the I expected. Not much for computers or rather wasnt till I realized you can build the crud outa them and go stomp people in other benchmarks for fun!!!!! :monkeydance:

Both CPU and HS on cooler have been lapped to a copper mirror finish as well then reseated with AS5 thermal compound.

MOBO: Abit IP35-Pro
CPU: Q6600 G0 400x9 at 4.6v 3.6ghz quad
MEM: OCZ p800ddr2 (4gbs) 4;4;4;15 1;1 ratio 2.1v
PSU: PC P&C 750 Quad copper sli/crossfire
GPU: EVGA 8800 GTS 320 678/1741/1067 (2134 mem) No v mod stock cooling
CPU Cooling: Mtec coolit freezone (prototype)
HD: 2 Raptor 150gb 10k rpm drives raid 0
Case: Antec custom plexi/fans

Aside of that i run a 13.8pi and get 13535 on 3dmark06 with a single 8800gts 320 (Smokin fast for a 320 gts).

Its prime 95 small ftts stable multi hour run and ATI stable 30min plus no artifacts or errors....

I dont want to play in the old sticky!!!!!:monkey:

I want to start a show your Sh#* off thread and have some fun as well as I dont want to go and read a bunch of stuff thats been there for a while. Besides how many threads have spawned off my sub 40lb rig thread and we all play... Its fun and gives us something to do.

(The sticky thread is pretty OK i flipped through it) :D

Besides that thread is way too old for comp stuff (1yr) in technology thats huge!

I had one like that at one point! Im still waiting for it to turn on. :D
LMAO! remember that in 20 years itll be a collectors item, so you wont have to wait long to sell it as one. :monkeydance:

I had a toshiba sattelite pro something about 11 years ago, I think it ran via papper and pencil. :D

Sell it? I'm gonna turn it into a fileserver. :monkey:

My mom is still using a surprisingly quick P200 with 64 MB of RAM. She can use Word and access the internet tubes, so she's happy.

I'm finally replacing my mom's aging PIII 733 w/ 256mb this Christmas. She's actually reached the point where her new printer isn't supported by Win2k and she needs an updated antivirus/spyware that drags her computer to a halt. It served her well, though, she had the thing when I graduated high school in 2000.

Yah - I got mine in '01. It has been a pretty solid machine, but it's noisy and photo editing is quite slow...

But it does have dual SCSI controllers, so off to fileserver land!

That's the track I've been on for the last 8 years or so, both with my cars and my computers, run them until they die or until it just can't do what you need it to. My computer is going on 4 years old and still chugs along pretty well, of course all I use it for anymore is surfing the net, checking email and storage for my photos. I bought the value priced processor with a good overclockability thinking that I'd overclock it if I ever felt it is too slow before jumping ship and getting a new computer. I bumped the speed up a little bit once but got tired of running prime 95 and I never bought a high end graphics card so bench marks like 3dMark (which at the time were pretty intense on GPU speed) didn't seem too revealing. I couldn't tell any difference between running overclocked or at stock speeds, so I went with the safe settings. I think I'm getting closer to needing something new though, I may start doing some work from home and I'll need a faster processor and video card just to support the newest software.

I work from home now since selling my sign shop and moving down here. Found a shop today should know by this week. I built this with my down time and my files are HUGE when I do a vehicle wrap so I opted to build it fast and reliable.
The OC'n thing is like my bike take it as far as possible and see what breaks. :D

the SCSi part is worth something. I would have done SCSI except for the inherent cost!

Yeah. Storage is goddam expensive. Unless you use older 36/72GB drives.

I'm gonna setup a RAID 5 (4+1) fileserver. Split the drives over the two channels and use that for data storage.
