i'm looking to buy my 1st mtb. i don't have a ton to spend. i found this bike for $550. any good?
rock shox reba fork, rock shox ? shock, deore lx shifter, hydraulic discs

Any bike that gets you started is going to be a great bike - the fun you'll have is not dependent on the money you have to spend. :)

Be realistic in your expectations of what the bike is capable of - if you are a newbie to MTB then that bike is going to rock. As you become more experienced you'll become better at determining what upgrades will help you become a better rider.
