Backing up Itunes library to an external HD

I bought a external HD and I copied the Itunes directory in My Music folder to it.

Did I save my music, or is going to be unusable if my computer fails?

should be ok, even your purchased tracks.

Yep, you'll be fine. All you'd have to do is open up iTunes on the new comp and hit "Add folder to library" and you'd be good to go, as long as you had "Copy music to iTunes folder" or whatever it is checked.
