I was having problems getting on to many secure sites with Safari 2, so I tried the Beta version 3. Same thing. Apple's boards offered no help so now I'm stuck with Firefox that I'm not crazy about.

Are Netscape or Camino worth the trouble?

Yeah, I agree. I really disliked Safari (mostly in relation to features and problems with sites) on my Mac but Firefox ran oh so so slow compared to it. :(

Safari sucks on XP too.

I don't need a bunch of tabs, but I do need a history. Nothing ever shows up in the history. It would be cool to have a sidebar with sites in in, but it just sits there blank.

Check the Tools>Options>Privacy (might be different in Mac) and make sure that history is active.

I never got into Safari, so I run FF on all my computers.

Does Safari have things like ad and script-blockers?

safari's fast.

Faster than FireFox but not as user friendly.

The new beta 3.0 version has a new search functions that kinda of sucks but, at the same time, is not too bad. Not on the same level than the search function on FireFox
