My Sherman is in the shop waiting for Manitou to ship some seals (2 weeks as of Monday...nice) so I'm pulling out a Z1 I had on the shelf. I'm pretty sure I should shim the adapter and not the caliper (Hope Mono M4) but it's been a couple of years since I used this fork and I'd like some confirmation that I remember correctly.

Doesn't really matter as long as you've got a good purchase on all threads involved.
You ride mountain bikes?

Just one. Any more backtalk and I'm going to haul you down here to do this in a gimp suit while I drink beer and watch.
(Thanks!)

In an answer to teh question, yeah you should have a small washer on each of the mounting bolts that hold the brake stand to the fork

I'm shimmed both of the mother****ers...
Btw, the Z-1 feels like pooh compared to the Slider. Blech.

I'd argue that table forks punch Manitou in the Box too.
However, the worst fork I have ever tried was a marz Z1 light. No lie.
Quickly followed by pretty much eveyr manitou ever that I have known.

Nope, the oil on it has maybe 10 hours of ride time. It's more a balance issue on the Bullit...5 inches of travel isn't enough. Moving the shock shuttle did help though.
I'm going to fiddle with the preload and rebound tomorrow. God knows where that is at...
