After $7k in hospital bills I plan on upgrading all my equipment to top of the line stuff.

I have the 661 Pressure suit and was thinking of upgrading to the Dianese Impact Jacket. Is there are great deal more protection with Dianese or does the 661 protect just as well?

They all offer the same general protection. Shoulders, back, elbows and chest. I think anyone who owns a Dainese will tell you they are great, but I think it is more due to comfort, fit and craftsmanship. The Rockgardn Flak Jacket looks good also. Middle of the road pricing, good coverage and good reviews. Unfortunately there are going to be crashes that hurt no matter what you're wearing.

Word. I used to dress in FBA and thought I was bullitproof... That is until I fell on Ripper and dislocated my thumb. In other words, body gear can help, but not prevent $hit from happening.

I have a Rockgardn Flak Jacket (the new ladies model) and it's great!!! I didn't want to spen the big $$$ on a Dainese for my "weekend warrior" style and I am very happy with my investment. My husband also have the men's version and has really liked it as well.

ive seen people use a moto style chest protector over their regular body armor. that would give some more chest coverage.

I used to have a Flak Jacket and now have a Dianese Safety Jacket. I'd have to say that they both probably offer the same amount of protection, but the difference in comfort and breathability isnt even comparable.

It was worth it to me cause I had the extra money to spend at the time. So if you're gonna use it enough and have the money for it, why not get the best?
