get well soon AS - still in hospital from Sunday's trip to Diablo.... :-(
sprained finger, some bruised kidneys, oh yeah and some fractured vertebrae....
Antonio does not sound so wasted but he is still at the hospital. He is getting another cat scan for some lingering spasms. He had a bad night last night apparently that was hell, worst pain he has imagined he reckons.. He may still have to spend another night or two before he is capable of going home. He is getting the good meds inc morphine to help he deal with it. He is bored out of his brain even though Jennifer has been out every day and dropped off mags etc. As soon as he can support himself and walk to the car he is going to make a break for home and see his own docs etc.

Wow that sucks. We were under the tent when he was laid out on the pinic table with ice on his back. When got up to walk to the truck you could see the welts on his lower back..it looked bad.
Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Wow - been busy for a while but just caught this.
Antonio, heal up fast man - I know how you feel - I just had a similar wreck during Domination #2 and have 2 broken ribs and bruised T5 and T6...
Relax and enjoy the downtime - stay healthy, and heal up fast.

Good thing both you and Antonio were wearing armor. I've said it before, but I can't believe how many kids I see riding without it.

he said it - wear your armor kids.......
I'm home and feeling better than I did Mon and Tue. Unfortunately I am still very messed up and having a difficult time. I think it would be slightly easier if I didn't have a broken rib. I can't lay on my side or my stomach to take pressure off my back because of the rib. That's the least painful part of it all. There is this INSANE pain that hits me on the lower left part of my pelvis, by my butt. It comes when I try to sit up, sit down, turn, walk... The pain comes sudden then lingers for a few seconds until I readjust my body. It's as if I been stabbed by red-hot knife in my left butt cheek and it's being twisted and held there. Even after I re-adjust, the "burning" sensation lingers for another few seconds until it finally subsides. This description is an understatement as to how violently painful it is to experience... to the point where I almost vomit and pass out. I'm guessing it's pinching of my the sciatic nerve. I got my MRI done Thursday and have an appointment with a leading spine specialist on Monday. We'll have to wait and see.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out Sunday, especially Simon and Jason. Everyones's posts, words and calls definitely make me feel better so thanks to all the NYCMTB community too. I know I will eventually heal and be back to my old self. I look forward to riding with you again.
