My girlfriend and I went to the cape this past weekend to do some riding. The cape has dedicated bike paths everywhere and almost every town we were in had some form of marked bike route it.
On Saturday we left our campsite and rode the shining sea bikeway from Falmouth down to Woods Hole to take the Ferry to Martha’s Vineyard

We hopped on the Steamship Authority Ferry and enjoyed the 45 minute ride to Vineyard Haven.

Once in Vineyard Haven we rode up the coast to check out the West Chop Light

Then we headed south to Oak Bluffs stopping along the way for a lunch of clif bars, peanut butter sandwiches and luke warm water. Yum.

Oak Bluffs was a nice little town. This was a small park that’s right along the coast.

The next stop was Edgartown – we rode several miles along the Joseph Sylvia Beach and even spotted a sea monster in a backwater.

Edgartown was really nice with lots of older homes and Edgartown Light.

Then we headed back up to Oak Bluffs for the ferry back home.

We finally made it back to the campsite in Sippewisset after logging 36 miles for the day.
Sunday we drove to Nickerson State Park which is further out on the cape. The park itself has a ton of bike trails and the Cape Cod Rail trail runs right through the park. We decided we would ride this trail up the coast to the Cape Cod National Seashore and hang out at Coast Guard Beach for the afternoon.

Total miles logged for the trip: 57 miles
We will probably go back again this year to ride more of the bikeway further out on the Cape. It seemed like every time I looked I found more and more information on cycling routes on the Cape and MV.
