Alright, I have a 66SL ATA and I am not super happy with this fork. I only get about 165mm of the advertised 180mm of travel. I also hacve the auto wind travel issue. Anyways I am wondering if it would be worth having Marzocchi do the works treatment and replace the ATA with an X cartridge, or get a Totem Solo Air. I like the way my Reba Air feels on my Niner, so I think I would probably like the Totem. Does anyone know if Totem Air users are getting the full 180mm of travel? I used the search function on here and MTBR. Thanks for any help.

I think that the Totem will fit you perfectly... Shame with the 66 because until i know, 2007 ATA wasn't giving the whole travel, the catrigde is smaller.

to try and have the ATA cart replaced. Maybe I can talk them into a good deal on the Works Treatment. I do think that I am going to order a Solo Air Totem in Sept. Anyone know what the best prices for those are?

Thanks.

Would you mind letting me know how that goes. I meant to do this before i left before my internship, and now im afraid of how long I will be down if I do so. Im also having the travel wind down problem but thats really my only complaint.

To fix the issue with the travel winding down: 1. Loosen the top cap on the ATA side. 2. Tighten the two set screws in the middle of the threads on either side of the top cap til you have nice firm detents (1 turn each tops). 3. Thread the top cap back in. DONE

I just put a Totem on my Turner RFX. I just got done pounding on it for ten days straight on vaca. It was great. No issues at all. ran plush and true. I spaced it down to 160mm takes about 30min.
I rode Marz for a long time. I have had probs with CS, and forks being "okay"
This Totem is great. Very stiff. only thing I have noticed is it seems to like being run with a little lower pressure than instructed. That is prob due to geo on the bike or my weight or simply how I like it to feel.
It is super easy to service too. can say that about a marz.
you could take apart, clean and relube this fork in 2 beers.
Thats my two cents

this is not a definite fix, i sent mine in now no wind down but I never see the fork come anywhere near bottoming out. i have to admit i like the fork though as it has never let me down and saved me from some bad landings into serious ruts.

Hey sunshynjunky - whats the procedure for lowering the forks?

I run mine at a lower than advertised pressure - most people do.. the consensus is 10 psi less than advertised from other people that I have spoken to. Its like butta once you get the thing moving.. fantastic fork.

Rock shox has good directions on their website. They inexplicably neglect to say anything about lowering a totem, but you can look at the instructions for the other solo air forks for that step.

Any other questions, fire away. I just put a lowered Totem on my Bottle Rocket, and initial impressions are very good.
