Wow; I'm just building a new mountain bike after not having ridden 3 years. I was joking with the folks at work of running the course for qualifiers, as I used to race DH...heh, looks like I'd need a bit of practice. It looks super fun though!

wonder how having it so much in the woods will work out for the spectator friendly aspect

I am wondering that too and that is also the bulk of the stuff looks to be a little bit up the mountain from where people will able to watch.

The only way it would get aired on TV is --
If they raced on roadbikes for 50 miles all together, & then jumped on thier slopestyle bikes for the obstacle course while people were shooting at them with paintball guns; then they would have to run through a maze with AMERICAN GLADIATORS tackling them, and then finally the archery shoot @ 40 yards to get a bullseye in order for you to run to the finish..
Now that sounds like an event !

I think it's cool as hell that it is up in the woods, adds so much style to the comp...Agree that it will be hard to watch but the change of pace is good.
slopestyles are getting very repetitive...

Very true, but slopestyles is just getting bigger. Most of the riders want the courses to be safe, but they are getting more dangerous. Look at the Dirt Jumps in Paris, they were too big to do any technical tricks on and they were so big they had to take their runs in between wind gusts. Its just getting to nuts.
