Going to order a Volume Sledgehammer today. But, I think the stock 41x18t gearing is bit high. I know what ss gearing I like on trails, but don't know how that would apply to commuting and screwing around. Any thoughts? Thinking about just sticking with 2:1.

i ride 34/16 on my 26". 34/16 * 26 = 55.25 .
55 is classic for all around single speed. the old bmx standard was 44/16 on 20" wheels. 44/16 * 20 = 55.
i think if you want to haul ass on street, especially if you live in a flat city, ratios numbers up to 60 would be fine.
if you have a ton of hills or are trying to get up climbs on technical trails, then maybe 2:1 is okay. but 36/18 would be too spinny for me on all around riding.
