haha thanks. I think madonna was humping my Kona in her true blue video.
I want to come up to Diablo in the next few weeks or so I'll get in touch with you Sean no worries.
SirK I'm contemplating SS this week end, with them thar ATV races and all, i hurd they'll be running an extra lift which everyone seems to be excited about so i'm getting excited about it by contageon.

thanks folks. I've been toying with the idea of trying my 66 on the coiler but really like the double crowns on it. maybe a double triple clamp 66???? that'd really be awesome. My Super T is a (very) late 01, so it's the 6" model and weighs right around 6 lbs flat which makes it nice on those longer rides with much pedalling involved. I don't find myself smacking my knees on the fork either with this frame, which was always the case with other bikes that had this fork on em.

Used SuperTs are cheap!!!! Hell even the brand new ones are a bargain IMO compared to the 66 and 888 lines.:busted:
I also wanted to mention I like how this coiler+superT combo it reminds me of the earlier stinkys in the earlier NWD videos.

connundrum, i found a used 06 Super T for cheap and it was the best upgrade i think i could have done other than getting a new bike...for DH and freeride the geometry feels spot on, slacker head angle hurts a little bit on the climbs...but its worth it imo

a double triple clamp 66 is a 888, there are some 170mm versions

Nice bike....I'd try and ditch that fork quick thou. Those things crack really easy at the lower M crown. MZ has a whole box full of those broken in half. The tech. I talked to said, "I wouldn't put my worst enemy on that fork."
But other then that sick.
I had the 04 coiler 5 inch. I ran a 04 super T then ended up switching to a 66rc2x. Both felt really nice and work well.

Upgrade! The little extra slack will help with the downhills.
And it'll score you chicks.

shortbus, where did you get your kona lock on grips.... i likey
Shortbus
06-22-2007, 07:17 AM
the lock on grips came with the bike, I think they're called Kona Log grips? something along those lines...
As for the SuperT, I've had this fork since 01, I don't really ride all that aggressively so i't's been serving its purpose quite well, but I have been toying with the idea of getting a newer one sooner or later.
Bikes get you chicks who then try and make you get rid of bikes so you don't get more chicks.

ok well it's all this thread's fault. I scored an 06 JrT for dirt cheap can't wait to run it on my coiler :D
oh yeah broken_spoke, that Uni is already broken I somehow have screwed up the cranks on it doing a 30 foot gap to flat on it. (I actually got so frustrated learning i took it and pounded it on the sidewalk).

well now i'm kinda nervous, I got a "no-go" from the Kona tech on the JrT (170mm dtc). Yet you guys seem to have had fair luck with your taller forks right? I mean the new superTs are 185mm aren't they? Now i'm nervous. I'm not even that aggressive of a rider. :(

hehe. here's my riding status: suck
exhibit a- working overload bikey $$$ :D
exhibit b- parents visiting from Europe + sister getting married = next 6 weeks buhbye. I dont remember what week ends feel like.
SK6, sorry man i know i never called nor emailed about SS. I really need to work on my social skills i swear I'm not that much of an a$$hole.
thanks kona-rider, the JuniorT does feel a tad heavier than my geezer (01)SuperT, but it does soak bumps much better. from the 150mm super to the 170mm JrT is actually quite a significant difference, more in front end weight than anything else like i said.
The dees are money. :D
