First off, I want to say hi to everyone arround here.
I'm new in this forum that I've been reading from a long time ago, but i just have registered myself a few days ago.

Well the thing is that I got a 2001 Boxxer (the US made one)
I've raced Dh with this fork for 3 years and I'm really amazed about the quality of the chassis. The Stanchions remains scratchless and without any signs of wear in the anno.
The bushings doesn't have any signs of play, and the fork is very light and stiff.

A couple of weeks ago when i was jumping a big hip stepdown, happened that i landed badly and crashed. Result: my lowers got twisted.

So I was thinking of getting new lowers. And try to fit a Motion control system in my fork to update the damping.
I was thinking of just cutting a inch of a 8 inch boxxer spring.

But the dubt came when I figure that my fork got internally tapered walls stanchions.
So, I don't know if the MoCo cartidge is going to fit.....

Anyone know if the internal diameter have to be the same in all the stanchion to the proper fit and work of the Moco cartidge?

Best Regards and thanks in advance

From what I know of hydraulic pistons, seals and such... Yes, they have to be exactly the same. If they are too big, they'll stick and cause damage, if too small, they'll rattle around and you risk loosing fluid. There are a lot of good boxxers out there for very reasonable prices. I personally scored an 05 boxxer ride for $220 USD, it was a new fork taken off a showroom bike. Check the RM classifieds, I'm sure there's a couple on there. At the very least, you may find one that is blown out that you can use for parts.

Thanks dude. That is what i was afraid to hear.

I think I will go with a brand new 05 170mm 888rc, the ones at 480 at wheelworld.
