we won't sell that. Mastik in tubes or Conti if we're gluing.

USAC snobs. "i don't want it to come off easily. that defeats the purpose."

I hate tubulars, Like the ride, but they are just not worth the effort. And flats on teh road are even worse. I will take my tubes, i can fix them easily on the road.

I just flatted my front tub this past Sunday. 45mph on a descent. Didn't roll the tire, thank god, but I've gotta get a new one on there.
I have some of the Tufo "Xtreme" tape I'm going to try on another tubular wheelset, I'll let you know how it works.
If it does, I'm stoked, because I have 2 other deep dish wheels I need to get tires set up on. The tires are all nice and pre-stretched, just waiting to be attached.
I do like the ride of tubies better, but man, they are a bit of a pain. Been about 7 months on those tires though, so that's not such a bad flat-free run.

i have never had one roll off using tape. what i meant was it seems easier to come off during cleam up than glue. cleaning that glue up is a huge PITA thats for sure.

Had tubs for years. loved em. But good clinchers are as good as good tubs these days and don't cost you $100 every time you get a flat. And cheap tubs are terrible. I'll never buy tubular wheels again.

I wouldn't be running tubs if I didn't have fast, easy access to tires, and recently come in to about sets of carbon wheels.
But since I did, I love them. Except when I flatted a couple of weeks back, that was lame. A good set of clinchers has 90% of the ride quality of tubulars anyway, and don't cost $100 retail per tire...
