And it's real tight. the bearings spin smoothly but very hard. Even with the arms on it's hard to turn. Will this loosen up?
A good shop set it up by the way.

You need to install another spacer between the bearings. Use the washers as spacers. It shound not bind.

A good shop set it up by the way. Are you using a chainguide? Or maybe the wrong size spacer is used.

im not using a chainguide and im using the longer of the two spacers. it's a standard frame by the way.

Like I said before you need another spacer/s. It should spin freely, but not lose.

It is a 65mm pro size bb. When the right bearings went in the frame they were really hard to turn(didn't bind or grind, just hard). the left ones turned well. I was supplied with two spacers and used the longer one.

Try swapping the spacers, sounds like the large spacer is to big and causing the bearings to bind.

If the longer sleve was used the beering would not fit into the frame. You guys are all talking 68 and 73 and its a damn BMX bike. Ride it, you will do more damage taking it out, than if you try to fix it. Almost 100% of the time the bearings get wrecked when you take them out.

I use it for racing so resistence in a part is kind of a problem for me. I don't think it's a spacer problem because the right bearings are hard to turn. Once the frame breaks in , i hope it frees up..??

give profile a call, those guys are cool. I had a bottom bracket that I bought used and they still sent me new bearings. free.... I didn't really tell them I got it used. But it was no problem. Try to loosen the cranks a little and see if it smooths out, if so, it may be that the inner sleev is too short, allowing the arms to crush the bearing when the arms are torqued down. in that case you need to take out one cup and put in one or two of the washers to make up for it. if the sleeve was too long, the cups would not be able to press in all the way... so, it's probably too short. loosening the arms and pulling them outwards a little would free the bearings, but you'll have to deal with the spacing from the inside of the bb. hope this helped.
