Hey,

This is going back a bit in technology terms, but I need some help with installing the Boxxer blackbox rebound base valve into my 03 Races. I've done a search and I've seen a few people have had the same problem as me; I've installed the valve and now my forks pogo like nothing else and top out harshly when I lift the front of the bike up. I've foned TF and the guy was helpful but I just want to triple check, cos I won't be able to get to my fork till the weekend and I'm going to have to work fast early in the morning to get out riding that day.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, once I've got the rebound assembly out the tubes, I take the old valve off. Then I slide on the new kit; silver carrier with open side towards the ground (as if it was on the bike), then the wavy spring thing, then the plastic washer, then the red base valve with the side with the groove in it towards the ground? Then I put the black spring perch in the top of the assembly and put it back into the tubes, (is it meant to click in when it seats properly?). Then I put the circlip back in, and is this meant to turn quite freely, as it was stuck solid last time I tried it?

Thanks for any help guys.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I don't want to do any damage to my forks if I can avoid it.

Just follow the instructions and you should have no problems.

xc skier: Thanks, I've already read over that document several times though, and it doesn't make any reference to minor details about the orientation of the red valve and the seating of it in the uppers etc. Thanks for replying anyway.

Mark, knowing Andy's maintenance schedule, I'd probably be better off running the pair of MX6's in my garage. :D
