Some of you might remember a while back I was talking about making my own internals for a 888 which had stratos uppers and was going to be air sprung with a single sided damper similar to an ohlin's mx fork.
Well, unfortunately I only had access to the machine shop for one day since moving into my new apartment ran late and I began an internship only a couple days after coming home :disgust:
To make a long story short, I am only partially finished with machining the damper and there doesnt seem to be any time over the summer where I will be able to use a metal lathe again. I have a complete chassis ready to go, and a bag of springs of all different rates and lengths. I can use the S8 dampers, but that most likely will require a good bit of modifying and from my experience with the S8 fork, they are pretty bad.
Since I just want to go riding, does anyone have some old 888 internals they would be willing to sell cheap? I called marzocchi and they informed me a complete set of rc2x internals is waaay over $200, which is past my budget. Any form of damper would work, even the VF or VF2.
