I have been pretty set on the bottle rocket for some time but the low cost and unique design of the black diamond has caught my attention. The price for the spec it comes with almost seems too good to be true. Anyone have the moongoose, or should i just go for the bottle rocket.

I personally don't feel they're quite in the same category. It really depends on how you ride. I just sold my black diamond, and it was too heavy for me, and i'm 6'2 195...so for me i'd go with the bottlerocket even though it'll cost you alot more. The black diamond is really fast and a sweet bike, but for me, the frame is a little heavy

The BR is a 5.5" travel, 10+ pound frame (depending on the shock). The Mongoose can't be that much more in terms of weight.

The complete 07 BD triple is only 37 pounds. It's goes up pretty damn well. for that much travel.

ECD frame is a tick over 9 pounds. for a medium

This makes sense. I knew those frames couldn't be that heavy. I really like 'em.

I have a black diamond frame all built to my specs. I love it. I weighted it to day. With my 888, and 8" front 7.5" rear, and the ISO Drive crap, it still only weighted in at 41lbs. Gonna try to cut some weight down. I have a few ideas. I weighed myself too. I am dropping weight like a crackhead. 154, and the 41lbs of bike I ride feels awesome, and not too much for me.

I just put my Black Diamond on a scale this week 10.63 lbs frame shock and seatpost clamp and rear axel. That’s not bad for a frame with 7.5 inches of travel.
It’s for sale if anyone wants it. Cheap Cheap cheap
Its the old one with the DHX 4.0 with a 400lbs steel spring. Not the new one with the air shock.
