I think I just got a few Pro-Men, then I had to get up there myself.
I apologize in advance to the guy whose head I cut off.

unsolicited advice, you can disregard if you want.

the EXIF is not in the photo, so i can't see the actual shutter speed, but a very useful skill here is to pan...what that means is that you keep yr shutter speed @ 1/60 - 1/100 and move your camera w/ the subject as they go by. this blurs the background, and keeps the rider relatively sharp; in the 1st photo the grass in the foreground is sharp, but the rider is not.

you can also crank the shutter speed to 1/250 or faster, but that freezes the image and doesn't lend the feeling of motion too well.

Thanks Kat! You only chopped off a tiny bit of my head :)

These are the ones I DID pan. The others I didn't post were wicked blurry.
Thanks though...
Maybe the guys were just going too darn fast! :)

Lol - the guy in the red jersey on the white Sunday whose head you chopped off was Nobby (Derek Nobman - spelling?)

This is understandable since he is a tall drink of water at 6'6".

Just don't let it happen again, or he will crush you.

maybe your autofocus didn't lock onto the rider, and you were using a fast shutter speed; the background looks pretty sharp relatively speaking. post yr EXIF from the first few shots.

It's from my new Canon PowerShot SD900. I haven't played w/ it that much.
And I posted all I had that came out decent so I'm sorry if I missed you #8.
