Had an awesome time today at my first Diablo race! First DH race after 3 years off too...
I showed up late but got 2 practice runs in, fortunately. Course was quite a bit drier for my race run and my Intense Edges were hooking up pretty well. Now if we could only get that tire in a 2.5:disgust: . 2.35's and those rocks don't go well together...
Made a few bobbles but got down fairly clean (yet slow) with a 3:46, I think. Nowhere to go but up from here I guess!:poster_oops:
Met Beneke in the parking lot. Totally cool guy. Also chatted with some Trail Crew guys at the race start. Also very cool guys. Race seemed to be well run with maybe only a 5-10 minute delay at the start. Not bad at all.
Although I hope I can do a better next weekend, all in all it was a good day.
