So both escapeartist and I are going to BU next year and i was wondering what the mtb scene was like up thre. I know fenway has some djs and I've herd bits and pieces about "Vietnam" but other than that know very little. Anybody in that area who can supply some help would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch,

If you are going to have a car, there's tons of riding in the metro area. Have a look at some of these threads (http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/search.php?searchid=1498248)
BTW: The Fenway dirt jumps got plowed by the MBTA last month because they needed the space.

Looks like the link isn't working now. If you do a RM search for threads started by username "Splat" in the "Ride Reports" section, it should show you a bunch of area riding.

Don't know how full your internet bandwidth is but you might check out bustedspoke.com forums for an active boston area rider group. Many are active here too.
