Good Deal ?

A friend of mine is selling an 05 giant OCR 2 for 300. The bike has been kept outside for 6months and there are little specks of rust on all the silverparts and needs a new chain. Is that a good deal ?
How much is a bike like that if it was in good condition ?

First off, does it fit? A brand new Colnago for $100 is a bad deal if it is too big or too small...

edit: A brand new one is $900. Considering that it's 3 years old already, I wouldn't pay more than $350 for one in good condition. I'm sure others will chime in.

I'd have to see what silver parts are rusted, but if it's truly been outside this entire time, and assuming it's got Tiagra/105, I would say to expect some shifter issues to arise. Those won't be warranty issues and will be costly to fix. I would have a shop put it on the stand and check it out. Have the friend commit to a chain and a tune up if it's no good. If it is, you foot the bill and buy the bike. It might bring $400 here in good condition.
