i was riding diablo both days this weekend, and towards the end of saturday, my fingers got so stiff on my handlebars it hurt to take them off and eventually i like couldnt even break. so today (sunday) when i got there, i thought i would be good to go, i take my first run, and it feels like my last run on saturday. fingers locked up and felt like they were on fire and going to explode. i spent most of the day just chillin at the bottom... it really sucked. so yea i know a couple others had the same problem and i was wondering if theres a way to prevent/get rid of finger lock. im assuming my hands are just weak cuz its the beginning of the season and after a few times out ill be fine. thanks.

make sure your set up from one finger braking and move your levers as close to your bar as possible without them hitting the bar before the brakes hit full power.

dont have a death grip on your bars. that is usually the problem or something to do with it.

Don't death grip the bars, don't make your gloves too tight or any straps you have on your forearms for your armor.
Tell yourself throughout your run to relax your arms, that's the main thing.

Fingers hurt less if you ride DH more. Loosening up on the bars and braking less (seriously) helps.
Bu the way, I think we rode together on Sunday. I was on the Mountain Cycle 9.5. Did a run in front of the helmet cam.

Take two Advil before you start the day, It will keep the swelling down in the joints and also relax you're grip.

I've always had the best results with joint pain from Aleve. And believe me, I'm an expert on joint pain. I keep a tictac box full of them in my camelback, pop one every 2-3 hours while riding.

Lighter fork oil fixed this problem for me.
