i was on the other side of the rocks from TP and snagged a few before heading up to race. i also have vid clips of cecil and andy D in that section. i wish i had it on video for moto's run...that was insane!

i'll post the better shots here but if you went down before motomike then i probably have a pic of you and you can just check my photobucket account under the 'massanutten 07' folder and get whatever you like. my account name is 'sempertubby2'.

first off, mad props to ellen adams. stitches on practice day and then a sprained ankle on race day :( oh well, she was still all smiles and matt pulled off a 2nd place finish :thumb:

Thanks man. I thought I heard someone saying something like that, but was only thinking of staying left on the exit of the rock garden at that time. Boy I looked slow up top, but look as I picked some speed up when I let go of the brakes. I did nail that tree up top though!!! My normal line was left of the tree and in my race run I decided to stay right at the last sec. Thanks for the vid.

I just signed into my buddy Greg's account on USAC and sent them his AMA# on Thursday through the online request form and they've already upgraded him to expert today.

Ah Massanutten,
I was too sick to go this year but went anyway,
then I was injured but I raced anyway.
I don't regret either.
You only get one shot a year at that place, and I could not miss out on the fun.
I had 5 different people asked me what was wrong this weekend, because I was being so quite, but I just did not have the energy to do anything but ride and breathe. Sorry to all the people I did not get to talk to this weekend.
I promise to be twice as stupid and 3 times as goofy at the next race, just like normal.:twitch:

Yes I know Rob I was there this past wed and Dean(ButterBean)tried to talk me into it no go but I did do the other one just after it if that counts.
And thanks I finshed 2nd again. Thats 3 second place finshes this season so far and one win.

don't remember his name...but #120 is a good guy. he would come and ride at Snowshoe almost every weekend when i was working there. very nice, level-headed guy which is a big difference from the majory of people at the resort.

Bill flatted once on his hardtail while trying to run basically an XC tire and tube. However, that is an extreme case. Those guys were riding down the lift continually. Did the same. Rode down the fire road once and then tried the lift. The view was nice but damn did it take a long time.

I was running michelin comp 16's and 24's with 45 psi and flatted 3 times in one day. Maybe you guys were taking girl lines.

i tried gapping a small section after the big rocks at the top and porked my front tire on the sharpest rock i could see. that was my only flat and i had it at about 28psi on high rollers w/ regular tube, i bumped the pressure up to 30-ish and made it down the rest of the time w/ no problems. i didn't get any flats last year and only one this year....must be because i'm soooo smooth ;)
my formula is this: observe which fast,smooth riders are making it down w/out any flats, ask what pressure they run then add 10 psi to compensate for my...uh...density and lack of butter-ness ;)
