Is theft a problem at Diablo? I am bringing a combination lock cable to lace thru the wheels and frame? Will that be enough?

no most of the time i just leave my stuff (paks and bags and clothes) right on the bench by the lift and its always there when i come bak at the end of the day. i think some one stole my tool once but it was a really cheap one anyway.

duct tape your balls to your bike, the only person bugging you to touch your bike will be sean....

Alway keep your bike secure. Theft isn't really an issue at Diablo, but do you really want to bet $2000 to $5000 on it?
As far as theft deterrents go, I've always found this to be pretty effective:

Be safe if you can, but theft isn't much of an issue there. It's a kind of out of the way place (as far as NJ goes, in any case). I leave food, drinks and tools by the lift all the time and twice I accidentally left my car and hit the trails only to find that I had LEFT THE FREAKING DOOR OPEN for a few hours. Nothing was ever stolen and nobody messed with my crap.

yeah, never seen it to be much of an issue at Diablo at all. and honestly, how long would you leave your bike alone anyway? maybe 5 minutes in the morning when you get your ticket? even when I take a break I always either ride my bike back to my car or park it next to the table i'm at.

my friend and i had our snowboards (that were locked mind you) stolen at the creek. I had a DH bike stolen from me once (it was locked on my roofrack right in front of my house) I try not to let it out of my sight any more, regardless of where i am. there are shady people everywhere. and someone earlier brought up a good point, watch out during water park season, as it brings tons of seedy people from manhattan to the park.....

I had a bike stolen my freshman year, It was a one of a kind Dual slalom frame that I made in my High school welding class. Since then I don't take any chances, If I cant see the bike, it gets locked.
