tires? are confusing

looking to get some new tires. ride mostly dj and freeride, yet some occasion xc with my dad. any recomdation would be appreciated greatly

I have one on the front of my XC hardtail, & it hooked up killer in the slick wet the other day over rocks & plenty of roots..
