Cane creek solos IS Owners.Question.

Just got thru fitting a set of e thirteen reducer cups and cane creek solos is headset to my 05 Turner Dhr. Must say I am very impressed with the quality of the creek headset beats the pants off the FSA that was in before it, one query I have though for all of you who have owned a solos IS, does your lower crown race have a fairly large gap between it and the bearing? The crown race is as far into the bearing as it can go but there is about a 2mm gap between the bottom lip on the crown race and the bearing face, also how come there isnt a lower seal of any sort?

Hi Mate,

I run a regular Solos headset, and I too thought there was an issue with assembly, as I had a similiarily large gap between the bottom cup/bearing and the crown race.

But seemingly is is normal.

how come there is no seal? The bottom of the cartridge bearing is prett badly exposed to the usual grime. Hope it holds up, it cost enough.
