I took a NASTY fall on my first practice run today, so I was basically put out of the "riding fast" category.

In any case, my race run might not have been the fastest of my runs, but it was definitely the cleanest. Aside from wind blown sketch-age on the first double, I felt pretty smooth.

Needless to say. I'm proud of my 14th. in Mens Sport (19-24). I'm happy that despite feeling like crap, I had an amazingly fun and clean run.

Awesome race! I'm looking forward to dragging my broke arse to the next race in the series.

15th in mens sport (19-24) right behind morethanjake543. it was a fun run.

We'll be there for the next race as long as we're not completely broke!

I was second to dead last in 15-18. First race, I was so tense and freaked the fvck out and couldn't ride for ****. I only fell once but danm I wish I had done better. Glad there are two more races, because I am not at all happy with my performance on sunday. I know I am a better rider so next time I will (hopefully do better).

I love my new bike

Bullet with a Super T, Great feel.

that was a great weekend. no falls or crashes.
tied for 2nd in mens beginner 30-34. not bad for my first race ever.
for some reason they listed me as 3rd even though we had identical times. but oh well, i'll take it.
hope you heal up in time for our next ride reed, just let me know if you want to take a weekend off.
and we are going to the next race in the series, even if i have to pay for you 2 clowns.

3rd in expert, pretty happy with my run besides almost completely stoping in the blown out right 3 turns before the finish.

josh on the other hand..........well, probably wont ever stand that close to the side of the trail again.

That double was so sketchy with the wind.

Got 3rd in sport 25-29 and felt pretty solid on my run with the exception of blowing out that same right hander berm 3 turns before the finish. I think I was 1/1000th of an inch away from actually holding it together. Just a little too far outside.

Wow, what a great race. It was run really, really well. They say that you can tell when somebody has put together an event well when it seems like (from the participant's point of view) it's running itself. Good job RideSFO and Team Wrong Way. I am so impressed. I was depressed about Sea Otter and you guys really made up for it above and beyong my expectations.

I think that translates into dead last with a dress.

I over shot the grassy berm in the top, came in way too hot and blew over the soft top. big booboo

i agree with everyone here that this race was executed very very well. the slight delays were barely noticeable and both days went amazingly smooth. Thanks guys for a great race and i'm looking forward to the next race.

What was the fastest time down the course? i forgot to look at the timings.

Didn't get to race after Miles crashed into me at the top of the g-out in practice before the race. I ended up coming into the top of the g-out too hot and wiped out on the side. It knocked the air out of me so I was a little slow getting up and moving. I ended up moving a 5 or so feet off the side of the trail to catch my breath.

Then I heard "Heads up" and almost immediately I get plowed into my Miles. I heard the crash looked pretty brutal (I asked around and wasnt able to find anyone who caught it on video - damn). I don't remember much of the impact or a few seconds afterward. The air was knocked out of me yet again and my wrist and lower back were hurting like hell. I think(?) his knee hit my lower left back really good first, and I really have no idea how my wrist ended up getting hurt. I went to the ER got xrays and found that it was just a bad sprain. So I'm out for a couple weeks. I'm just really happy it wasn't broken. Bummed I am going to miss out on the next few weeks of racing though. =\

For sure man. It was great while I was out there though. Seriously, such a cool event. By far the best local event.

You cant beat $45 for a race, shirt, a sick course, and a weekend of good times.

Cant wait for the next one. Fingers crossed on not getting taken out by another rider. =]

Got 3rd in Beg 25-29. Pretty stoked since I crashed HARD twice on Saturday (both on my 2nd practice run) and sprained my wrist really bad and put 2 nice dents in my left shin and got a whole bunch of road rash on my body. Sunday, I just tried to get down the course without breaking myself even more, taped wrist and all but my confidence to go all out was nowhere to be found. Got offline a couple of times but still managed to get down injury free! So I'm pretty happy with my run.

Oh yeah, before and after my run I took some pictures after the G-Out (this is all of them so there are good ones and bad ones, sorry for the bad ones!). You can see and download them here:

Nothing like coming into a corner way to hot, not cornering enough, and finding Josh in my exit line. When I saw him there wasn't a whole lot I could do but yell a lame warning and half-bail. That really sucks about the sprain, good thing it wasn't a lot worse. Healing vibes to you dude, heal fast and get back riding.

1st place fast old guys 45+. 2:26 and change

I had a good run, but as I set up off the little kicker on the high fence line groove into the berm at the top of the g-out, two freakin kids were playing on the grass runout line where I was headed. I grabbed a handful of rear brake to swing the rear and change my line, nearly highsiding right at the top, both feet came out of my pedals, and I rode the entire g-out sitting on the saddle with feet in the air, right through the the first left turn. Visualize a guy riding a bareback horse in the rodeo. I was just waiting to get bucked over the front. But I clicked in just before the right hander into the single track. It scared the cr#p out of me! And I'm bummed that I didn't get to give it a clean run for speed, but glad I'm ambulatory. Stupid parents. Inattentive course marshalls. I would have creamed those little guys and myself.

Yeah, Expert next year for sure. Hey Curtis, my fiance said I had you sweatin it there for a minute. :D

Seriously though, I WAAAYYYY over cleared the "big" double and landed to flat and blew through the little berm after it. I knew I had to pin it like a mad man to have any chance for a decent time. Probably took too many risks the rest of the way down, aka 44mph on the G-Out, but like they say, "No guts, no glory." In the end, it paid off with the win. :thumb:

+Don't know the exact number of girl racers, 15 or 20. We need more women to race! They threw all the expert, sport, women together, at the end of the day, almost as an after-thought.
But the course was fast and FUN! I got 2nd place, expert/sport combined. Had to leave early though, didn't get to bask in the glory:rolleyes:
