View Full Version : Clunking DHX?

Hi,

The DHX on my Sx Trail has recently started making a bit of a "clunk" noise under compression. If I push on the suspension and compress the shock slowly its silent but if you push it down fast it makes a solid clunk.

All the bolts are right on the links and nothing looks out of place on the shock. So far it rides fine.

Is this a sign of a issue to come or nothing to worry about? I'd rather get it rebuilt now then in the summer during race season if a problem is brewing.

Any suggestions?

how much air pressure is in there?

I think I have the same issue. All my bolts seem to be fine, but my bro thinks it could be the dreaded clunk from a blown DHX. MTBR has a pretty extensive topic on this.

I'm just going to ride it out for a while since it feels fine. No issues with the rebound, or performance so I'll just send it in to Push to get it upgraded.

the shock is dead. it needs to get sent back to fox. mine had the same problem not too long ago.

I have no idea - Mine is one of them sealed up DHX4.0 that come on the SX's - I have no boost valve just pro pedal, rebound and spring preload.

So ok next question: If I must send it away is this something that fox is best to fix or would now be a good time for a trip to Push?
