So Im a junior at the U of Montana currently and love it, with the exception of girls (are busted, smoking hot and c words, have been f'd by everyone i know, or i have dated the rest), not enough of a big city for me (bar scene, clubs, chipotle etc etc) and the riding is only good in the woods. our street blows, our dj's are craptastic untill someone fixes them up, then they get trashed. also not enough people here are at sa challenging riding level, i ind i pretty much only ride with bmx's b/c they are the only people putting it on the line and trying new things (very limited at that) and there is a major lack of media out here which blows coming from high school in co where it was weekly roadtrips to film and shoot stuff. so i have been looking at transfering to someplace warmer and with a better riding scene. so far i have been thinking ucsb or the community college for a semester depending on how this one goes, santa cruz, somewhere in the seattle area, portland, or arizona possibly (too hot??) wondering what everyones opinions are....

UCSB would probably be a good choice. Big time party school, hot chicks, there's an outdoor concrete park (it's illegal but people ride it anyways), and there's tons of DH. The downsides: there isn't that much street, and the DJs are big-hit style that people ride on big bikes from what I've seen. Plus downtown is crowded.

If you dig trails and urban, Seattle has a good sellection. I live a half hour north of Seattle and there are tons of dirt trails from there to hear *Galby, Sea-tac, Collinade, ect.* and a good amount of urban in Seattle and B-ham. However, I know nothing of the other locations so I can give a fair comparison.
Just my 2cents.

Move to Norcal where the female/male ratio is 5 to 1. You can shred the Farm everyday after you are a proven dirt mover. Skateparks everywhere, and sick DH.

I am transfering to UC Santa Cruz next semester.
I'd be lying if I told you that it wasn't, in part, thanks to the great riding out there.

It's not only because of the riding, mind you! Still. I loved the few I rode when I stopped by a few times, and I figure I might as well be at a school with some fun trails close by when I'm getting my learning on.

Transfer to UCLA. You'd be right by our trails. And there are so many rad spots to ride in SoCal... I still haven't hit them all.

ucla would be bad news, know way to many girls at FITM that make me do bad things whenever im around them (spent srping break with a new batch of them and they are f'n nut cases), plus one of my x's from high school goes to ucla and we are not exactly on the best terms. its looking like ucsb, ucsb, or psu as of now
