I'm looking for any info to resolve a "ticking sound". Ticks mostly when I torque on the cranks. Seems like its coming from my bottom bracket area. I have a Race Face Next crankset and have tightened all the chainring bolts as well as the crank itself. Also tightened down the spoke nipples. I'm wondering if I should change out my BB? Any help appreciated...

Pull the BB and regrease the threads of the BB and the shell. That should take care of the noise.

listen to the frequency of the ticking, what does the frequency correspond to? is it one rotation of the cranks, one rotation of the rear wheel, one rotation of the chain, etc... if it is the cranks does it have to do with the pedals or the BB? isolate the system until you determine what is making the noise then clean, lube, & reassemble, although I caution against lubing the BB spindle of A-taper BB's, I am a beleiver in the no-lube school of thought in this regard.
